When you are looking for a basic peripheral that won't cost much, the pTron Flick M12 wired mouse often pops up as a top contender. We have all been there—your primary mouse dies, you need a quick replacement for a home office setup, and you don’t want to spend a fortune. This mouse promises precision tracking and some flashy LED lights, but does it actually hold up under daily stress, or is it just another piece of e-waste waiting to happen?
The pTron Flick M12 is built around a 1600 DPI optical sensor, which is standard for this price bracket. You get four adjustable DPI settings (800/1000/1200/1600), allowing you to tweak the cursor speed based on your screen size or preference. In practice, the tracking is responsive enough for general office tasks like browsing, document editing, and basic navigation.
The design features a 1.5-meter nylon braided cable, which is a surprisingly nice touch for a device at this price point, as it resists tangling and wear better than standard rubber cables. The "breathing" LED effect—cycling through seven colors—adds a bit of flair, though it is purely aesthetic. Users have noted that the weight is quite light, making it easy to maneuver across a desk.
The Reality Check
Let’s be honest: at ₹269, you shouldn't expect professional-grade hardware. While many users praise the smooth movement and grip, there are significant caveats. Some customers reported that the build quality feels basic and "plasticky."
The most concerning feedback involves longevity. While some users have reported months of trouble-free use, others have faced critical failures, such as the sensor dying within a few months or the scroll wheel failing to register inputs. Furthermore, navigating the warranty process can be a headache; some users found the manufacturer’s requirements for returning defective units to be overly cumbersome. If you are a heavy user or a gamer, the limited DPI and basic structural integrity might leave you wanting more. It is a solid "emergency" or "secondary" mouse, but perhaps not a long-term daily driver for power users.
